Our Mission

The English department, along with the students in Professor Hodges's creative writing class, decided to update the student body with a new Rockhurst Reader. This website, "The Talon" includes poems, fiction, art, and more curated from the students on campus with all their own work! We hope you find pieces that you enjoy and happy reading.

Our mission is to culminate a variety of voices to open up the floor for creative expression at Rockhurst University. In The Talon anyone and everyone with a story to tell is welcome, whether it’s poetry, fiction, creative nonfiction, or visual art, we want to give students a place to take the risk and publish their work.
